Hello! My name is Emily Dryer, but you can call me Em.
I’m a multimedia artist and student based in Austin, Texas pursuing a career in Live Event Production and Management. I am currently studying Arts and Entertainment Technologies at the University of Texas at Austin, and will graduate with a B.S. in December of 2023. When I graduate, I hope to find a role as a Lighting Programmer or Designer, Producer, or Project Manager for Live Events and Immersive Experiences.
With my degree, I am learning advanced technical skills as well as how to manage several long-term projects simultaneously, many of which are collaborative. I have had the opportunity to take amazing classes such as Live Event Engineering, Concert and Event Lighting, and Immersive Art Installations, among several others. Some of my best work from this program can be found here.
Professionally, I work as an Undergraduate Assistant for upper-division AET courses, including Audio Engineering and Project Management in Spring 2023 as well as In-Field Art Installations for the Fall 2023 semester. This work reinforces my communication and leadership skills, particularly in the context of immersive technologies. I am also taking on sporadic contracts at this time as an Event Technician.
Between my academic and professional work, I have so many opportunities to grow as an artist, a technician, and a leader. I feel truly blessed to wake up every day and love what I do. This consistent gratitude drives my work and attitude on a daily basis. While this work keeps me quite busy, I do try to keep time for some extracurricular hobbies. In my free time, I enjoy bouldering, crocheting, and doing yoga. I also enjoy supporting my peers in the local tech arts scene and trying out new restaurants with my friends.
Thanks for checking out my page, I hope you enjoy your time here and have a wonderful day!
Em
